Kids Nutrition
Every child is special and has a right to good nourishment. Mothers are perennially concerned “if my child is eating right”. Times are changing; lack of open spaces make outdoor games for children a rare sight. Children then resort to playing indoors games or are busy with their smart phones and computers. Fondness for junk food is increasing at an unbelievable pace. Chips, cookies, fries, burgers, pizzas, etc. which were once enjoyed occasionally have become a daily affair. All this has resulted in disproportionate levels of child obesity, low immunity in children, early onset of menarche and so on. On the other hand, we have children who are picky eaters and it is a tiring effort by the mother to ensure adequate nourishment.
It is proven that academic achievement is linked to kids’ nutrition and physical activity. We help you and your child understand what good eating habits are and how these can be incorporated to make lifestyle changes to ensure right nutrition for our kids.
The primary focus areas are:
- Childhood Obesity
- Diet for Underweight Kids
- Guidance on Healthy Eating Habits
- Diet to Improve Immunity
Programs Offered:
- Workshop for Parents: Most parents lack awareness around food – dietary habits, nutritional requirements and how this impacts their kid's health.
The workshop engages parents:
1. To know their kid’s Nutrition Score, to know the difference between an “active kid” and a “healthy kid”.
2. How to add variety in the meals - introduce new foods, new colours and new textures - so that the kid starts eating and actually relishes the food.
3. Awareness on the wide variety of food choices available that can be used for children with different preferences, at different times and in different situations.
This workshop will help parents guide their kids to set out on the path to a happy and healthy relationship with food. - Health Score Analysis: The kids are evaluated on 3 key areas of health & nutrition and a comprehensive health score is generated for each kid. The parents can then avail a personalised diet plan basis the identified needs. The health score covers:
1. General Health & Lifestyle Assessment
2. Food Habits
3. Nutritional Assessment
- School Meal Service: We engage with the cafeteria meal provider to help plan healthier options for the school meal service. We help communicate meal options, prices and nutritional information with parents. This offers an excellent opportunity to increase collaboration, understanding and communication between the school meal staff, parents and students.
