Brown Rice Dosa

Brown rice is a good source of fibre, magnesium, manganese and selenium. It is a complex carbohydrate which is digested slowly. It has a nutty flavour and gives crunchy texture. Whole masoor dal is a rich source of protein and fibre as well.

Brown rice dosa is a perfect dish for delicious and wholesome breakfast. It can also be incorporated as a part of your meal. This recipe is balanced with carbohydrates and protein in equal ratio and is super filing.

 

Ingredients:

Brown Rice – 1 Cup

Whole Masoor Dal – 1 Cup

Methi Seeds – 1 Tbsp

Oil – To grease pan

Salt – As per taste

 

 Method:

  1. Soak brown rice, masoor dal and methi seeds separately for 4 to 6 hours.
  2. Grind them separately, mix them and add salt to taste.
  3. Keep this mixture to ferment for 8 hours.
  4. Grease the pan with little oil.
  5. Make dosa or uttapam form the batter.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney or sambar.

NOTE: The same batter can be used to make idli as well.
